• Florida septic permits are now a state DEP program, but this county's health department Environmental Health office still takes the applications and issues the permits locally

Manufactured Home Notes

• Mobile homes must be model year 1981 or later (pre-1981 allowed only if already titled/assessed as real property in Sumter County), and homes older than 15 years at permitting require a pre-permit inspection.
• A permanent perimeter underfloor enclosure (masonry, wood, vinyl, or similar, at least 50% opacity) is required per the Florida Building Code.
• Since April 1, 2025 the county is also the building permit/inspection point of contact inside the City of Bushnell; online permitting runs through Citizenserve.

Florida installations follow FS 320 and Rule 15C-1/15C-2 (DHSMV) with licensed installers and installation decals; county building permits, tie-downs and wind-zone compliance apply.
