From the factory to your land, here is how your new manufactured home makes the trip and gets set up right, step by step.
Signing for a new home is exciting, and the part most families wonder about is what actually happens the day it arrives. The good news is that our team handles the heavy lifting from start to finish. Here is a plain-spoken walk-through of how delivery and setup go, so you know what to expect and can relax while the work gets done.
Every smooth setup starts with a ready site. Your land needs a stable, level spot for the home to rest on, clear access for the delivery equipment, and the right piers or footings in place. We will talk you through what your property needs well ahead of time, so nothing is a surprise on delivery day.
Your Clayton, TRU, or Scotbilt home is built inside a climate-controlled factory, then carefully transported to your site. Single-section homes travel as one piece, and multi-section homes arrive in halves that we join together on your land. Delivery and setup within 100 miles of Folkston are included with every new home, so the trip to your property is already covered.
When the home reaches your land, the crew guides each section into position over the prepared pad. This is careful, patient work. For a multi-section home, the two halves are lined up and married together so the seams meet cleanly. Getting the placement right here is what makes everything that follows go smoothly.
Once the home is in place, the crew sets it on its foundation supports and levels it. Proper leveling matters more than almost anything else. It keeps doors and windows operating correctly, keeps floors solid underfoot, and helps the home hold up well for years to come. The team takes the time to get it right rather than rushing.
With the home level and secure, the crew moves on to the finishing work. Plumbing, electrical, and the A/C and heat pump are connected, and the interior trim-out ties the sections together so the inside feels like one seamless home. Steps and metal skirting are installed too, both included with your new home, so it looks finished and welcoming from the moment you walk up.
Included with every new home: delivery and setup within 100 miles, A/C and heat pump, trim-out, steps, and metal skirting. And every new home comes with a FREE Lifetime Home Warranty covering your kitchen appliances, plumbing and water heater, electrical, and the A/C and heat.
Before we hand over the keys, we walk the home with you top to bottom. We show you how things work, point out where your utility connections are, and make sure you are comfortable with everything. This is your chance to ask questions and make sure the home is exactly what you expected. Only when you are happy is the job done.
Setup timelines can vary a little depending on your site, the weather, and whether your home is single or multi-section. Whatever your project looks like, our local team stays with it from the factory to the final walk-through. You can learn more about what stands behind your home on our Lifetime Warranty page, or browse what is ready now on our Inventory page.
Tell us about your land and what you are picturing, and we will walk you through the whole process, no pressure.
